On May 30, 2018 by the initiative of the Faculty of Finance and Banking, a roundtable discussion was held at at the Tajik State University of Commerce. The topic of the roundtable discussion was "National Anti-Money Laundering /Combating the Financing of Terrorism and the Financing of Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction System".

The Financial Monitoring Department representatives of the National Bank of Tajikistan, the leadership, the faculty and the active students of TSUC attended the event.

The rector of TSUC Prof. Faqerov H.N., made a welcoming speech and thanked the leadership of the National Bank of Tajikistan for support in organizing this important event.

The floor was then given to the director of the Financial Monitoring Department Mr. Faizullozoda F., who presented a report on national AML/CFT/WMD system.

Furthermore, the Financial Monitoring Department representatives presented video materials on the issues of preventing terrorism, extremism and illegal use of the financial system. It was noted that the urgency of the problem requires the development and implementation of the educational standard "Economic Security", with the aim of training highly skilled personnel to strengthen the national AML/CFT/WMD system.

Afterwards, the dean of the Faculty of Finance and Banking, a Candidate of Economic Sciences, Assoc. Prof. Kurbonov A.R., and the acting Assoc. Prof. of the Department of Banking Isupova B.F., told about their gained experiences during the training courses held at the International Training and Methodological Center for Financial Monitoring of the Russian Federation in the field of AML/CFT. Moreover, the acting Assoc. Prof. Isupova B.F., proposed, with the assistance of the NBT, to train and retrain teachers of TSUC in the field of AML/CFT. It was emphasized that these teachers will be useful in, on a pilot basis, implementation of the specialty "Risk Analysis and Financial Safety" at the Faculty of Finance and Banking.

At the end of the roundtable discussion, the parties expressed their desire to cooperate in this direction in order to further strengthen the national AML/CFT/WMD system and train highly skilled personnel in this area.
