The Department of Commercial and Anti-Corruption Law was established in 1996 under the name of the Department of History and Law. In 2000 it was renamed the Department of Commercial Law.

Since June 10, 2022, the head of the department is the Candidate of Legal Sciences Farrukh Aliyev.

The purpose and objectives of the department are two directions:

- conducting scientific research related to the explanation of theoretical issues of civil law, entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship;

- education, training and professional ethics of students.

Currently, the research team and the base of the department are very well staffed, 4 doctors of law, professors, 11 candidates of law, associate professors, 2 senior teachers and 2 assistants work at the department.

The subjects of scientific research of the Department of Economic Law are:

- Development of administrative justice in the Republic of Tajikistan;

- Criminal liability for crimes against the foundations of the constitutional order and the security of the State;

- Legal protection of information;

- Legal issues in the field of local self-government in the Republic of Tajikistan;

- Development of water legislation in the Republic of Tajikistan.

The Department of Business Law is considered a specialized department of the Tajik State University of Commerce and currently the direction is based on it and a narrow specialty is applied, determined by the authorized body.
