Quality Management System in Education

The care about the quality of education by the Tajik State University of Commerce is one of the basic process, which creates the present market of educational services. The quality of education becomes the basis for working out and implementing the strategy of the development of educational units and the issue of quality in higher education has been given attention in the academic and legislative environment starting with the Bologna Process.

On October 7-10, 2019, at the Dissertation Hall of the Tajik State University of Commerce held a training-series with the participation of the professor of the University of Pisa, ECTS/DS counselor and Bologna expert, Ambassador of Erasmus+ to Italy Prof. Ann Katherine Isaacs and University faculties within the framework of the “Quality Management System” funded by the World Bank.

 

 

The seminar started with a welcoming speech of the Rector Prof. Fakerov H.N. where he wished a very fruitful, dynamic and constructive seminar and workshop.

Afterward, Prof. Ann Katherine has started her presentation on the theme of the “Improving competency-based education programs using Tuning methodology. Worthy to note that Prof. Ann Katherine has been deeply involved in the Tuning Process around the world (Europe, Latin America, Canada, USA, Russia, and Central Asia). She has a great contribution to the European Higher Education Area and the European Research Area. At present, she participates in Tuning Southeast Asia and Tuning China.

The next presentation by Prof. Ann has was dedicated to the “Methods of identifying general and professional competences of graduates and ensuring their formation in the learning process”.

Thereafter, the next theme of training theme mostly covered the structure of the educational program such as the general provision of the educational program, the area of the professional activity of graduates, quality guarantee system, the integration of education into processes at global and country levels.

The three-days training result suggested that a quality management system contains the organization structure, competence division, and responsibility, procedures, processes, and resources. quality in the educational process is understood as the agreement with settled requirements or the degree of the fulfillment of customers requirements or other interested parties, or also the degree of the fulfillment of the assessment criteria (e.g. to didactic tools, lecturers, the results of teaching, needs, satisfaction, etc.).
The seminar ended with the questions, answers, and brainstorms.
